06 August 2013 - China plans to invest invest up to US$375bn in energy efficiency and CO2 emission reduction measures by 2015, of which about Cyu 1,800bn (US$294bn) to develop renewable energies. The Chinese government is also planning to gradually expand a carbon trading pilot program to more cities starting from 2015, in the hopes of creating a national market. In June 2013, the National Energy Administration announced that it planned to replace over 50 Mtce (tons of coal equivalent) with renewables by 2015.
