[에너지신문] 11 December 2015 - BP has completed the acquisition of a 22.75% stake in the North Alexandria Concession and a 2.75% stake in the West Mediterranean Deep Water Concession from DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG (Germany). The acquisition will bring BP’s working interest in both concessions of the West Nile Delta (WND) project to 82.75%, with DEA retaining 17.25% in the project.

The West Nile Delta project agreement, concluded in March 2015, involves the development of 5 tcf (more than 140 bcm) of gas resources and 55 mbl of condensates. Production from WND is expected to be around 1.2 bcf/d (34 mcm/d or 12.4 bcm/year), equivalent to about 1/4 of Egypt’s current gas production. All the produced gas will be fed into the country’s national gas grid. Production is expected to start in 2017.
