[에너지신문] 11 December 2015 - The Moroccan energy office, Office national de l'électricité et de l’eau potable (ONEE), will launch a tender for the construction of eight solar power plants ranging between 10 MW and 30 MW and totalling 200 MW. The call for pre-qualification for the Noor Atlas project is planned in January 2016.
Three solar power plants will be installed in southern Morocco, in Tata, Tahla (Bouizakarne) and Tan Tan, while the other five projects will be built in the east, in Outat El Haj, Aïn Beni Mathar, Boudnib, Bouanane and Boulmane (Enjil). The ONEE has already acquired the land for the eight sites and started feasibility studies. The Atlas project is expected to be fully operational in 2017.

The ONEE aims to have 400 MW of solar power operational by 2018. A first phase consists of the Noor Tafilalet project (three or four power plants of 10 to 30 MW for a cumulated capacity of 75 MW to 100 MW). The Noor Atlas project is the second phase of the programme. The third phase will consist in the construction of two to four solar PV plants with a total capacity of 100 to 125 MW.
