[에너지신문] 15 December 2015 - The Australian Federal Government has lifted a ban on wind power investment that was introduced in July 2015 by the former Prime Minister.
The government had issued a draft mandate asking the Clean Energy Finance (CEFC) to stop investments in wind power projects and roof-top solar panels, arguing that existing wind parks were uneconomical while the fund should concentrate investments on new and emerging technologies.
The A$10bn ($7.5bn) CEFC is one of the two energy bodies that funds the development of renewable energy in Australia. It will be allowed again to invest in wind projects, provided they incorporate "emerging and innovative" methods. The CEFC will then invest A$67m in the third largest wind project in Australian, Ararat, in western Victoria.
