[에너지신문] 02 February 2016 - The electricity transmission network operators of the Netherlands, TenneT, and of Denmark, Energinet.dk, have signed contracts with Siemens and Prysmian for the construction of the 350-km-long COBRAcable between the Netherlands and Denmark. Siemens will supply two converter stations for the direct-current (DC) connection. Prysmian will supply the DC cables and offshore installation works.
The COBRAcable is a 700 MW interconnection project that will stretch between Eemshaven (Netherlands) and Endrup (Denmark), where the converter stations will be built. Commissioning is expected in 2019. The €600m project will receive a €86.5m subsidy from the European Commission under the European Energy Programme for Recovery (EEPR).
