[에너지신문] According to preliminary estimates, Algeria's hydrocarbons exports remained stable in 2015 at around 100 Mtoe, due to a lower oil and gas production (-1.3% to 153 Mtoe) and to a rising domestic consumption.
Crude oil and condensate production declined by 2.8% in 2015, while oil product (mainly gasoline and diesel) output contracted by 4.6%; LPG production increased by 2% to 9.6 Mt. In 2015, gas production dipped by 1% and LNG output fell by 7.6%.
Hydrocarbon exports still account for 95% of Algeria's total exports despite efforts to diversify the economy and for 60% of the state budget. Algeria is also seeking to reduce its domestic energy consumption, so far without effects: oil products consumption increased by 5.5% to 18.3 Mt in 2015, while gas consumption rose by 5% to 39.5 bcm. Electricity consumption continued to grew at a steady pace (+8% in 2015, compared to a 10%/year increase in 2010-2014).
