[에너지신문] 08 April 2016 - Canadian energy utility BC Hydro has awarded Voith Hydro a C$470m (US$360m) turbine and generator order for the Site C hydropower project on the Peace River in northeast British Columbia (Canada).
The Site C Clean Energy Project consists of a dam and 1,100 MW hydropower plant, expected to generate 5.1 TWh/year of electricity. Construction of the project started in summer 2015 and will be completed in 2024. Investment is estimated at C$8.335bn (US$6.265bn). In November 2015, BC Hydro selected Peace River Hydro Partners, a consortium of Acciona, Petrowest and Samsung C&T, as the preferred proponent for the Site C main civil works contract.
