[에너지신문] 25 May 2016 - The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has disbursed a total of NGN 55.5bn (US$278m) from its Nigerian Electricity Market Stabilisation Facility (NEMSF) to support the domestic energy sector. Of this amount, power generation companies received 65%, gas suppliers 19%, distribution companies 16% and service providers less than 1%.

The companies will use the funds to upgrade and refurbish their equipments (overhaul of power generation units such as the Jebba hydropower plant, rehabilitation of three units at the Kainji Dam or rehabilitation of electricity distribution lines) and acquire new equipments to improve service (such as new meters and mobile substations).
