[에너지신문] The second unit of the Changjiang nuclear power plant (NPP), developed by China National Nuclear Company (CNNC) in Hainan province (China), has reached first criticality.
The Changjiang nuclear power plant will consist of four 650 MW CNP-600 pressurized water reactors (PWR). Early construction works started in December 2008 and first concrete was poured in 2010. The first unit was commissioned in December 2015 and the construction of units 3 and 4 is scheduled to begin in 2018. The project is developed by a joint venture of CNNC (51%) and China Huaneng Group (49%).
