[에너지신문] 13 January 2016 - The government of Pakistan has launched a tender for a second LNG import terminal and related infrastructures, in an attempt to ease gas shortages before a 2018 general election. The floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) will be moored at Port Qasim in the southern city of Karachi, and should be operational by around mid-2017.
The first LNG import terminal was also built in Karachi by Elengy Terminal Pakistan Ltd (EPTL, wholly owned by Engro Corp) and commissioned in April 2015.
