[에너지신문]22 March 2016 - Iran will inaugurate the Iranian part of a 270-km gas pipeline to Iraq by the end of March 2016. Iran commissioned its 97 km section in August 2015.

The gas pipeline stretches from Charmaleh (western province of Kermanshah in Iran) to Naft Shahr (border with Iraq) and will eventually reach Basrah in Iraq. It is expected to supply gas to the al-Mansourieh, al-Sadr and al-Quds reverifies in Iraq. The pipeline project will be developed into phases and will ship 4 mcm/d in a first stage, to be progressively raised to up to 25 mcm/d after it gets connected to Iran’s gas trunklines (IGATs).
