[에너지신문] 23 May 2016 - The United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has approved a US$0.7m grant with Home Energy Africa for the development of a 100 MW solar PV power project in Nyimbale-Sankana in the Upper West region of Ghana.

The construction of the project is expected to start soon and to be completed in 2017. The power project would be commissioned in 2018 and would provide electricity to about 80,000 average households in Ghana.

Ghana has an installed capacity of around 3 GW and aims to reach 5 GW by the end of 2016. Nearly 1.3 GW are already under construction, including 1.2 GW in gas and oil projects.
